when in digikam i use png convert
then
jpg photo in portrait mode ----png convert --> png photo with thumbnail , preview , editor view in portrait mode . good .
but
in dolphin thumbnail , preview in data panel are in landscape mode .

you can see with original jpg that dolphin takes care of rotation then image is in portrait mode

Works for me in KDE Frameworks 5.45.
