There is common scenario to read new mails:
1. Open Inbox folder
2. Read some message
3. If message is not important then delete it else archive it into special folder called "Archive"

Currently in Kmail you have to manually move message in such folder by 2 step action: press "m" key to launch "Move to ..." dialog and select target folder

It will be useful to make such action in 1 step pressing special key for archiving current message. Also it is important to give user opportunity to specify Archive folder in application settings.

Additional information:
Same functionality can be found in Thunderbird and other email clients, e.g. GMail
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Message_Archive

Reproducible: Always

Laurent, I've just updated to Kmail 4.12/KDE 4.12.0 and can't find such functionality.

Go to "tools"->"configure Archive folder"
configure folder where you will add mails
and you will have an entry in messagelist popup menu for doing it.

Regards
