Example of the broken text selection
Selected text background doesn't dissapear and strange font artifacts |
Confirmed... Probably a bug in calligra's common text tool, though. Yes, this problem is very annoying. The selection remains till you resize the text canvas or insert new text. Created attachment 89173 [details]
Selected text background doesn't dissapear and strange font artifacts
The text artifacts only are visible when editing the text. If edit cursor is not in the text canvas, characters are showed right.

Created attachment 84415 [details] Example of the broken text selection Krita seems to be stuck with text selection after changing the font using the drop-down dialog to do so. It won't clear the selection in the GUI, but you are able to reselect text. Since it's easier to explain with a screenshot, I'm attaching one. Steps to reproduce: 1- Choose text tool, set to Multiline 2- Draw a text frame 3- Enter a sentence 4- Select part of the text 5- In the tool docker, open the font drop-down dialog and select a different font 6- Notice the text is still selected 7- Select a different part of the text Sometimes, the selection background doesn't show at all in step 4. But Krita will register the selection, so you will be able to i.e. clear a portion of the text without realising. These GUI problems disappear if you change the text, i.e. adding letters.
