Description Richard Van Den Boom 2013-12-19 10:10:01 UTC
When I redirect a mail, a window opens allowing me to choose the destination but also the identity of the sender.
If I let the default sender, it works, even though it was not the initial receiver of the mail.
If I decide to choose a different sender identity and the appropriate transport, it fails with a simple failure message without details.
If I then go into the Send Box, open the pending mail, it opens in the editor but the identity is still the default one. If I change the identity and send it from there, it works.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Redirect a mail on a system with several identities
2.In the redirect input window, choose a destination, and a different sender identity with the appropriate transport
3.Sending fails. If you reopen the mail in the Send Box, select the proper identity again, then it works
Actual Results:
Forwarding with different identity than the default one doesn't work out of the box, even though retrying usually works.

Expected Results:
It should work out of the box.

could you give me error show in mail when you have this error ?
Comment 2 Richard Van Den Boom 2013-12-22 10:53:48 UTC
I get "Échec du transport de messages. smtp.papy3d.com", which in french means basically "Mail transport failure : smtp.papy3d.com".
The mail transport is indeed the one I try to use and it's not the default identity one but it's the good one for the identity I choose to forward the mail.
Once I reopen the mail from the Send Box in the editor, this transport is correctly used.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
