Description Tobias Schula 2013-12-15 16:51:55 UTC
When connecting a ptp based camera (tested so far Canon Powershot 540, 570 IS, S100; EOS 400D) I don't see it in dolphin or gwenview, but I am able to download the pictures with digikam. I'm also able to browse the files running dolphin as root.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect ptp camera
2. open "camera:/" in dolphin
3.
Actual Results:
empty window

Expected Results:
I should be able to browse the files

Powershot A570 IS as example:

This is puzzling, as digikam works as user, so should dolphin camera:/ as user

also weird that it does work as root.

I saw this in another bugreport tgoo

digiKam do not use KIO ptp since a while (before 1.0.0 if i remember). So this problem only affect Dolphin.

Retested it with the old Powershot A570IS. Plugged in, camera gets recognized, I can open pictures and download them, everything works flawlessly. Closing bugreport.
