When KSnapshot is started up, it takes a copy of the whole screen without delay, including tooltips just popped up (for example by putting the mouse cursor on an application icon in KDE).

Thus, it solves the problem described by the original poster and "Angel Blue01" at:

http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=45445

But only the first time KSnapshot is run. To remake such a snapshot, it has to be closed and run again.
By adding a keyboard shortcut for "Take a New Snapshot" in KSnapshot, it would be possible to take several snapshots without closing KSnapshot. An option could also be to show or to hide KSnapshot window before taking the snapshot.
Today the only hotkey we have is by default "Print Screen" in KDE, that runs a new ksnapshot instance at every press. Another hotkey should be proposed as explained above.

I have just discovered that the space key allow to retake snapshots:

But it has not the suitable behavior:
* it only works if the focus in on KSnapshot (we need instead a global shortcut; it may be something as SHIFT+PRINTSCREEN)
* it does not take the screenshot immediately, it still waits for the user to click on the screen to actually take the screenshot.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years and I will be closing this bug. Spectacle is the replacement for ksnapshot now. Please test again and file a new bug for Spectacle if you still have issues. Thank you!
