The place is empty, below the YouTube-link. If you click with mouse on it, the sounds play, bot there is still no video visible.

I have also seen this, confirming.
(dropping from "major", as the youtube plugin isn't a critical feature of an IM application)

Dear user, unfortunately Telepathy is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
