My photos are usually sorted in a nested folder structure, e.g. Italy/Livorno, Italy/Florence. 
If I want to see the thumbnails of all photos from Italy, I can perform a search in dolphin in the "Italy" folder for "*.jpg". This displays a "virtual folder" with all files matching the search string.
If I now double click to a thumbnail in dolphin, Gwenview is launched for the photo in the context of this photo's physical folder, and not in the context of the virtual search folder. This means, I can only navigate within the files of this folder, but not the files from the search result.
