Summary:	the motherboard sound works but when i plug output to my SB-X-Fi digital card i get no sound from it. sometimes it screetches a quick high pitch sound but nothing else not even sound from webpages or sound files or movies.

same as the above description.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.restart system/computer
2.reinstall the system
3.no known other effort just no sound reproduced at all from my sound card when using the ultimate edition 3.5.2.
I have even asked at the forums and still no reply.
Actual Results:  
same as the above explanition......no difference

Expected Results:  
nothing,no sound comes from my sound blaster card at all.

should have system sounds,none.
should have movie sounds,none.
should work as in the windows 7 system but not when i use ultimate edition,nothing at all.

You need to setup your soundcard. For setting up your soundcard, please search help at your Linux distributor, hardware vendor or in appropriate internet forums. if this is a general issue for your soundcard, you might consider to open a bug report at the ALSA soundcard driver project (http://www.alsa-project.org/).
As this is not a KMix bug, I will close this bug report. Should this not reflect the facts (e.g alsamixer works, but KMix does not work), please add another comment and/or reopen this bug report.
