Screenshot with state before 4th step and after it.
As is visible on the screenshots, during the 4th step only resolution of LVDS-1 is changed which triggers monitor arrangement change for VGA-1 device.
Thanks for reporting your bug. Since reporting Krandr has since been replaced by KScreen. It is available in the Plasma 4 series, and is default in Plasma 5 onwards. I hope this solves your issue. If you still have a problem after upgrading please reopen a new bug under kscreen. Thanks |
While connecting projector I have observed small annoyance - seems that System Settings monitor configuration tool cares about sequence of setting change - it especially hates "copy of" ("clone") mode for secondary monitor and tries to force "above" layout instead. This is not a critical bug as clicking in the right order solves problem but still it's annoying as hell if I hit "apply" while thinking that configuration is like I set not like systemsettings decided it to be. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect second monitor; 2. In System Settings set resolution of new monitor; 3. Set new monitor to be clone of main one; 4. For main monitor change resolution to the newly connected monitors resolution Actual Results: After 4th step, new monitor mode is changed from "clone" to "above". Workaround - after 4th step repeat 3rd step or just remember to execute 4th step before 3rd. Note - "apply" button isn't pressed while performing those steps. Expected Results: Changing resolution of main monitor should not change "clone" setting of secondary monitor
