Attachments: Crash report from my last kscreen installation
Pasted from konsole when I ran "kded4"

Description Odysseas 2013-11-02 18:13:52 UTC
I recently upgraded my Kubuntu from 13.04 to 13.10. I noticed a general slow down that did not occur before, especially when multi tasking, i.e. painting in Krita and recording the session with Kazam.
I decided to check my graphics drivers and found several versions available under "additional drivers". None of them worked properly, opengl was not functioning. After my last try I rebooted and saw the crash report from K daemon.
The desktop settings where reset and there was no wireless connection.

I uninstalled the graphic drivers and when I rebooted, opengl was recognized and worked normally.
But the K daemon problem remains, every time I login it crashes.

This is the backtrace information I saved from the crash report:

UPDATE:
Since I do not have any external screens at the moment, I uninstalled kscreen and libscreen. NOw the system is back to normal.
Should I attempt to install these again?
Comment 2 Alex Fiestas 2013-11-14 15:42:32 UTC
Was this happening all the time? can you please install kscreen back and execute kscreen-console bug and copy paste the result here?

Thanks !

If you can provide the information requested in comment #2, please add it.

Hi, sorry for the silence, it was not possible to do anything during this period.

So, I installed the kscreen again and immediatelly the ldaemon crashed. Yes, it happens every time. Luckily this time I was able to generate a full backtrace.
This is what I got with kscreen-console bug:
