No thumbnail produced from fils with .tif extensions. These files cannot be opened with "showfoto" although any other (windows-)picture viewer can handle these files.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:  
failed to open (tiff) files

Expected Results:  
tiff files schould be opened

digiKam screenshot of TIFF image properly managed

No problem to load it in editor under Linux and to see thumbnail...

Sound like a Windows installation problem...

Can that tiff image be opened by gwenview on Windows ?

I just tesed with last 4.2.0, and example tiff file can be open properly.
