The DNG converter does not work with ARW files coming from my new SONY SLT A58 (OK with my old DSLR A33).
Please can you correct it?

This is typically relevant of libraw which is used to extract RAW image data. Packaging to DNG is delegate to Adobe SDK, which is a common way to all raw files to convert.

So i suspect that your libkdcraw (which include libraw) used to extract RAW data must be updated to support A58.

Go to digiKam Help/Raw camera mist and look if A58 is supported.

But according DCRAW website, this model is supported. 

Does it mean that the package delivered by Mageia are not up to date?

Yes, libraw in Mageia in pretty old and must be updated. Report this problem to Mageia team.
