the statusnotifier disappears right after clicking on it, regardless of whether or not an update was started or anything.

simply clicking on it should not remove it as at that point it's notification value 'updates-are-avaiable' is still valid.

in fact if I now happen to close -updater I'd have to dig through the menu (assuming I even think of that) to get it back. or wait a couple of minutes which is equally dreadful.

Is this bug still valid? I think the new update-notifier should stay active until the update happened and it rescanned the system if updates are available.

Technically fixed I suppose.

Now replaced by bug #332383 xD
