Description Josh Liberty 2013-10-07 15:17:50 UTC
Sometimes I cannot launch Kontact - and it seems that the process wasn't killed, so it is still running but without any window.

Have a look at the attached screenshot. As you can see in ksysguard the kontact process is running - so when launching it in the terminal, it is supposed to switch to the window, but nothing comes up (in the same way, clicking "show application window" in ksysguard does nothing).

After killing the process, kontacts starts without problem.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Try launching kontact.
Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
The application window should be shown if the process is running.
The application should be started if the process isn't runnign.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
