If a Google Contacts Address book is added and it's checked along with all the groups that come with that address book, the contacts from the groups appear as duplicates.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add an address book from Google Contacts to KAddressBook
2. On the Google account (using the Gmail or other web interface) add contact groups and add contacts to those groups
3. To the added Address Book also check the created groups.
Actual Results:
The contacts in the groups appear as duplicates.

Expected Results:
If the person is in the main address book and in the group it should be displayed only once.

This is unfortunately a limitation of current KAddressbook: it simply shows contacts from all folders and does not care about duplicates.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kaddressbook (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

This is still present in 5.1.3.

Also present in 5.3.0. Furthermore, contact groups are duplicated if created in Google Contacts, due to default groups being created.
