Your KDE version 4.8.5 is too old and no longer maintained by KDE developers. Please update to latest stable (KDE 4.10.5) or previous stable version (KDE 4.9.5). You can ask in the support forums of your distribution how to update.

You might also try recently released version 4.11.1, but KDE 4.11 is still in stabilization phase.
