Description Valter Mura 2013-08-25 08:27:40 UTC
Hi,

I would like to have a configurable middle toolbar between the two panels, in which setting up a set of commands of normal use, such as copy, paste, delete, favourites, trash, and so on.
A good example could be "Free Commander" (for Windows).

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the report, but to be honest, I don't think that this is a good idea:

1. Note that Dolphin has only one view in the default setup.

2. Switching between "single view" and "split view" mode would require to move the "middle toolbar" somewhere else. This would require complex, bug-prone code, and might be annoying for users.

Feel free to propose the issue at KDE Brainstorm (which is much better for the discussion of users' ideas anyway):

If it gets an extremely large amount of support, and you (or somebody else) volunteers to write the required code, we can reconsider it.

Additionally, QMainWindow only allows toolbars along the edges. See http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/qmainwindow.html#qt-main-window-framework
