Description Amichai Rothman 2013-08-19 21:07:37 UTC
After upgrading to KDE 4.11.0 (from 4.10.5), I noticed a couple of my configured file associations were reset (movies started opening with Dragon instead of VLC, jars started opening with Java instead of Ark). Far worse, however, is that they cannot be changed: selecting 'Open with...' to open a file with my preferred application and selecting the checkbox option to remember my choice results in the file being opened with my selected app, but if I open the file a second time it reverts back to the original application. I also tried changing the assocation directly in system settings - I make the change, click Apply and all looks well, but if I exit and re-enter the settings I see the previous associations remain and my changes are lost.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change the file association of mkv files from Dragon Player to VLC in system settings, or select 'open with...' on a file of that type, select VLC and select the checkbox to remember the choice. This happens with other file types as well.
2. Click on an mkv file (or whatever file type you selected above).
Actual Results:
The file is opened with the previous (default) application.

Expected Results:
The file should be opened with the newly selected application.
