I can confirm this bug. To reproduce: 1. Set system tray settings for 'Manage Print Jobs' as: Display=Checked and Entries=Auto. 2. Send one or more print jobs. Actual Results: Icon remains permanently hidden. mouse actions Hover: Always displays 'Print queue is empty' Right click: Works correctly, ie 'Manage Print Job Settings' / 'Unlock Widgets' Left click: Does nothing at all. Expected Results: Icon to appear in system tray when print job commences. mouse actions Hover: Correctly display status of print queue(s). Right click: N/A (works correctly) Left click: Open Print Manager. kde4-print-manager-4.11.1-35.1 KDE 4.11.1 Qt 4.8.5 openSUSE 12.3 Kernel 3.7.10-1.16 x86_64 I can confirm this bug also. But I must correct previous comment, in my version of print manager (4.11.2-1.1) left click opens list of installed printers with slider switches beside them. Anyway when I double click on some printer Icon, its jobs queue manager window opens, but is completely disabled, I have no chance to change anything, also there is no currently printing job visible, queue still looks empty, despite the fact that printer is currently printing. Maybe this is the reason, why applet does not show icon in systray during printing. When I try to open print jobs manager from KDE control center, the situation is the same, jobs queue manager disabled and no jobs visible. kde4-print-manager 4.11.2-1.1 KDE 4.11.2 Qt 4.8.5 openSUSE 13.1 kernel 3.11.6-4.1 x86_64 Yes thats clearly the problem, but here it just works. So the reason is probably some different config in cups. Does the web interface http://locahost:631 lists the jobs? Is it the default install? OK, I will wait for an KDE update to 4.11.5 as described in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325125 . Maybe also the KDE printer applet will then auto show during print. Does this issue is still valid on Plasma 5? |
