whenever I start a new session I cant use the shortcuts to change layout nor can I use the systray icon in order to switch.
the solution every time is to open the layouts configuration panel (right click on the systray icon -> configure), make a change in something like the order of the layouts and apply the changes. then it is all working again normally.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start new session
2.try to change layouts
3.
Actual Results:  
nothing

Expected Results:  
next layout

dont know how to tell the version of kxkb

which version of Fedora/KDE are you running?
can you also please attach your .xsession-errors file?

I see the error but there's no hint on why this is happening, could you please attach your Xorg.0.log ?

Could you please run kdebugdialog, turn on debugging for kded4 and relogin, then send your xsession-errors? Thanks.

attached the current xsession-errors file. sorry for the delay it was a very big file ~400MB last time took me some time to realize I have to logout and login again to get it small again.

After upgrading to Fedora 19 the problem is solved.
