kmail can't search, if I click on the search button I get this message:

The Nepomuk semantic search service is not available. Searching is not possible without it. You can enable it in "System Settings".

If I check in the system settings nepomuk is running and email indexing is enable. Stopping starting nepomuk, akonadi or kmail doesn't do a thing. Akonadi Server Self-Test says (amongst other things) "Nepomuk search service not registered at D-Bus" but I definitely have nepomukcontroller nepomukserver nepomukservicestub akonadi_nepomuk_feeder running on my system.

I confirm this, with kontact (kmail) from rpms for KDE 4.11 from OpenSUSE (12.3) repositories.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Not sure if it is the same bug but searching is broken in 5.1.3

David, you're right. Search is still far from being perfect, but this nepomuk-related bug is indeed obsolete.
