Description Alex Fiestas 2013-06-04 11:51:25 UTC
Showing the time for the last message in a conversation makes most sense, but I'm struggling to imagine one case where I want to see the time on all messages.

In the log viewer it makes sense as well since you are using it specifically to read some backlog, but in the chat it only adds noise.

Reproducible: Always

That's theme dependent I'd say.

We can either:
1) Turn this into a bug of "change the default theme"
2) Close with "use different theme"

I'm inclined to 2) but it's up to text-ui maintainers.

Timestamps in the default theme are low contrast so do not have a lot of "noise".
Having everything jump and move about as you hide the timestamp would add more "noise" and if you didn't make use of the extra space, there's little point hiding them.

Summary: No. Use a different theme.
