As per summary, this action has no shortcut, please create it. If it can be mapped that is also OK, but it should also be available by default

Shortcut for "Mark as read" :-)
I think a default shortcut for this action should exist, that is what is this report about

Ctrl + R would be most appropriate IMHO :-)

Rather Ctrl + E? That is what is used in e.g. Akregator
