copy/pasted the discussion we had about it as a log to help show what's been discussed already. 15:14:56 - Bollebib: i was wondering bout krita's brush system 15:14:56 - Bollebib: i love the many options ofcourse 15:14:56 - Bollebib: but often times I'm working with a brush, and the settings I have are all fine, but I just wanna add one particularsetting, and I can't,because that's a different brush system... 15:15:06 - Bollebib: unless I'm missing something 15:15:35 - Bollebib: for example if I got a great pixel brush, and I want to smudge with those settings,is there a way to do that? 15:15:36 - boud: yes, that's possible 15:15:45 - boud: eeks 15:15:54 - boud: I was too like typing enter, that was meant for your preview question 15:15:59 - boud: no, it's not possible 15:16:31 - Bollebib: *sadface* 15:17:17 - Bollebib: Maybe there should be one masterbrushsystem....that emulates common settings from different brush systems =D 15:17:26 - boud: best make a wish in bko, then it's at least registered 15:17:40 - boud: well, yes, but it also makes it really hard to add new brush system, if everything has to be in the same system 15:17:47 - boud: that's the problem with corel painter 15:18:09 - Bollebib: well the value of the seperate brush systems is it's selfcontained easier to find 15:18:11 - boud: but it won't be too hard to copy a bunch of settings from one engine to another, as long as those settings are supported in the other one 15:20:23 - Bollebib: the different systems still would have their purpose, imo, because they would be probably better at that function, because it's more focussed 15:20:23 - Bollebib: but I see value in being able to add some of the best settings of those brush settings 15:24:06 - dmitryK: boud: probably, Bollebib wants only to copy the brush tip settings? Bollebib is it so or you want something more complex? 15:25:38 - Bollebib: mmmh,it's hard to say 15:25:38 - Bollebib: but I assume if brush tips, brush size and other settings would carry over to another brush system that would help 15:25:38 - Bollebib: but I can see it not working due to some systems not certain settings 15:26:30 - Bollebib: but wouldn't that also be more difficult then just to copy some settings over? 15:26:44 - Bollebib: cause I just mean a few common ones like smudge 15:27:10 - Bollebib: the grid and dyna brush and so on,don't think you CAN add those settings to a normal brush 15:27:17 - Bollebib: but smudhe is so common 15:28:28 - Bollebib: Spray seems like it could also be useful to apply to normal brushes 15:28:52 - Bollebib: also "common" feature 15:29:15 - Bollebib: so I dunno what would be the best solution... 15:29:56 - Bollebib: in my mind, adding good options to a m""master" brush system seems like the simplest option 15:33:41 - dmitryK: Bollebib: well, make sharing of the Brush Tip settings is not very difficult. Although it might need some UI design a bit 15:37:04 - Bollebib: that is a possibility 15:37:04 - Bollebib: and that would certainly help in some cases 15:37:45 - Bollebib: but that will not bring over custom pressure or rotation settings,no? 15:37:45 - Bollebib: or by brush tip do you mean everything related to that? 15:38:41 - boud: even the other settigns aren't hard to copy 15:38:45 - Bollebib: it's kind of like the brush modes, actually 15:38:45 - Bollebib: any brush can become an eraser, and it has the same settings 15:38:45 - Bollebib: or can paint behind 15:38:56 - boud: most brush engines use exactly the same option objects 15:39:07 - boud: it's the actual paint strategy that is different per engine Ack... This needs some good thinking, though. Maybe "save settings as template" and then add a "load template" button? Sorry, we will not in the near future get down to this, it's just not feasible with the available resources. WISHGROUP: Out of scope |
