Description Ahmed 2013-05-26 06:59:20 UTC
using ktorrent to download a video file, and then using the plugin for viewing the video while downloading, results in a lot of stops during play.

is there any way to tell ktorrent to download the file sequentially so we get a better user experience while playing back the video during the download operation

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. download a video file
2. activate the media plugin to play back the file
3.
Actual Results:
file is not downloaded sequentially

Expected Results:
expected the file to download sequentially so we can play it back without interruptions

The file is downloaded sequentially once you open it in the plugin. You should see a bar which indicates which parts of the file is downloaded. This should fill up roughly sequentially.

Note that the download speed needs to be high enough to view the video without interruptions while it is downloading.

in KTorrent for KF5/Qt5 sequential download is activated automatically if you open video files from ktorrent's bottom panel (the 'Files' tab)
