Hi, well as far as I know 3.5.x should still work.  I would suggest trying w/ another terminal (xterm, etc).  I would think it would be a system/disto issue.  I doubt I can do anything coe-wise since the version is so old.

out of curiosity did it work under xterm?

The more recent version of KDE you can get will better as far support.

No problem with xterm. 

Seems to be related to konsole and only after a su to root. Su to any other user is fine.

Hi Kurt,

Just a FYI. I had another problem unrelated to the konsole. I reinstalled RHEL 5 and all is well. 

Must have had a corrupt file ?
