Description Philipp 2013-05-03 08:33:08 UTC
Searching for emails with the find messages dialog doesn't return any results. No error messages displayed.
Nepomuk is enabled, email indexing as well.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open kmail
2. open find messages
3. enter search terms
4. click search
Actual Results:
nothing

Expected Results:
display emails i searched for

i had some problems with the file indexing as well, so i deleted the whole nepomuk database. file indexing is working fine now, but it didn't change anything for the described kmail bug.

Was is your search ?
Comment 2 Philipp 2013-05-03 09:22:22 UTC
No matter what terms I enter into the fields I don't get any results.
For example: I select search in all folders, complete message contains f.
There are hundreds of messages that contain the letter f in my folders. I don't get a single result.

Same when you search by subject ? or address ?
Comment 4 Philipp 2013-05-03 10:06:22 UTC
yes. anything i enter. not a single result
Comment 5 Laurent Montel 2013-05-03 10:45:21 UTC
So it's not a kmail problem it's a nepomuk problem.
Your emails are not indexed.
Comment 6 Philipp 2013-05-03 11:18:40 UTC
do you know what i can do to make nepomuk index my emails?
Comment 7 Philipp 2013-05-03 12:34:26 UTC
I just tried deleting all nepomuk data and config files. I then rebooted and still got the same problem. could there be a problem with akonadi? there is a control module in akonadi that is called nepomuk feeder. I can't add it tough it is greyed out.
Comment 8 Philipp 2013-05-05 20:56:45 UTC
I finally solved the problem by installing akonadi console and removing and re-adding the akonadi nepomuk feeder. It then started indexing automatically. I had to use akonadi console, was not possible in akonadi configuration.
No idea how this happened.
