- What I was doing when the application crashed:
using firefox. Was running amarak by console with --debug option. can see this error in the console: 
(amarok:4877): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_get: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.

Please, do not report bugs that have obvious duplicates, this has been reported already about 40 times already, and it is a problem with the phonon-backend-gstreamer.

As a workaround: use the phonon-backend-vlc
