Sentry Crash Report:

Description Lucian Marinescu 2013-03-11 07:40:07 UTC
The interface where you can report bugs (Help menu -> Report a bug) should be make it easier to do so.

A first step would be to have a text box where you can filter the entries from the dropdown box. Currently, there are so many entries that it's a pain to find an appropriate category for the bug you want to report.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Launch the bug reporting interface from the Help menu.
Actual Results:
An intimidating dropdown box appears.

Expected Results:
It should be easier to find a category against which to report a bug.

Well, in most cases you don't need to choose at all. The preselected value should just work.

It works if you want to report a bug for the application where you launched that interface from.
If I want to report a sound problem, or something related to the interface, I may just launch Dolphin and use its Help menu, in which case I must dig through that huge list for an appropriate category.

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
