Which KDE version are you using? For me, Alt+Space does not insert a nonbreaking space. So currently, I cannot reproduce. Dominik, did you follow *all* steps to reproduce the bug? In particular, did you install the Polish KDE localization and switch to Polish keyboard? It might well be that the offending key binding is only present when keyboard is set to Polish. Oh, and it is right-alt only. I can still very much reproduce this in 4.11.00, Arch linux. In that case, reassign to i18n, maybe they know what to do with this ;) Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! Dear Bug Submitter, This is a reminder that this bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? This bug will be moved back to REPORTED Status for manual review later, which may take a while. If you are able to, please lend us a hand. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! Actually that’s a convenient way to enter that character, I consider it a feature, not a bug. The AltGr+Space combination works that way even in Gnome/GTK apps. Anyway, Kate/KTextEditor doesn’t (or shouldn’t) have control over it. From quick research it seems that the kbd[1] project is responsible for providing key maps. [1]: http://kbd-project.org/ |
