After the login the kile splash screen is shown on one of my running activities albeit kile is running on the other avtivity

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have two running activities.
2. Start Kile (or other programs with splash screens. Haven't tested so far) on one activity and switch to the other.
3. Restart/Log out and back in.
Actual Results:
Splash screen is shown on the current activity.

Expected Results:
Splash screen is only shown if Kile (the program) is running on the current activity.

Could be bug #274931

Does the window remain when you suspend compositing? (Shift+Alt+F12)

In case, can you please open konsole and run "xprop > splash.props" then click the splash screen (cursor turned into a cross) and attach the output?

while I think it's the same as bug #274931 I'm also wondering whether that's a bug at all. I mean getting the information that Kile is being started right now is not a bad idea. That's why we have splash screens in the first place. IIRC splash screens are also on all desktops.

Martin, this is a good point. Still, with activities it is a little bit different, I think. They do not extend your working area the way multiple desktops do. Instead, they are a complete different working area.

Maybe it would be possible to supplement the splashscreen with the information '..on activity xy'.
I will test if it is the same without compositing the next time I reboot.

Yes the splash screen remains without compositing. I have attached the xprop output.
