First of all: please upgrade to Amarok 2.7 Then: how would you record a CD with Amarok, are you using a script for that? Then please report this to the script author if it is still reproducible with Amarok 2.7 (In reply to comment private mail) >> Then: how would you record a CD with Amarok, are you using a script for >> that? >Oh, I thought it was made to do this...?? >when you put a CD in the PC, Amarok can play it while it is in the CD reader, and if the user does a right click to the right of the CD icon in Amorak their is a small ">" mark which opens to a menu. One option is record to your local library. Once you do that, one gets a series of menus to set up the labels of the recording etc... Sorry I misunderstood you, that is not called "recording", it simply copies the CD to the collection. Anyway, please upgrade to Amarok 2.7 and try again. Then please report this to the script author if it is still > reproducible with Amarok 2.7 Summary: -Amarok crashed -I decided to send a bug report (I had never done this before) -A support person told me to upgrade Amarok to 2.7 -I found a procedure on the KDE site > sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports > sudo apt-get update > sudo apt-get upgrade -I was suspicious that it might break things, but the support person reassured me to do it -I did it, but KDE broke and I could no longer log into my Kubuntu system. KDE gave me a white background but no login screen -I found a way to back-out of the change using my ipad. sudo apt-get install ppa-purge sudo ppa-purge ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports -Amarok is still broken, but I can work in Kubuntu again. maybe there's a way to only upgrade Amarok ? Well, yes, nobody told you to upgrade everything, just update, then: sudo apt-get install amarok But seriously, the bug tracker is not for support questions but for technical issues, please address your support questions to the forum, as I already told you. Thanks for your help so far, but I will not be able to go further with this because grub2 appeared to be corrupted and I could no longer boot the image. I'ver reverted to the LTS image again. regards Thank you for the feedback. Feel free to reopen this report if you can reproduce this with Amarok 2.7 or later in the future. |
