Sentry Crash Report:

Description Tom 2013-02-22 20:26:39 UTC
Application: dolphin (2.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.5 (4.8.5)
Qt Version: 4.8.4
Operating System: Linux 3.6.11-4.fc16.x86_64 x86_64
Distribution: "Fedora release 16 (Verne)"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

This has happened more than once, but I can't *make* it happen. I'm running Fedora 16 64bit XFCE-spin. I have some KDE and Gnome apps, but not the complete desktop for either one.

This doesn't seem to be the Qt bug cuz Dolphin is never active, which is probably required for a tooltip to appear. (Although I do have tooltips enabled.) Also, my Qt version is 4.8.

I don't remember if I was doing something in Firefox or in a terminal when the crash happened, but I know Dolphin was not the active window.

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.

Thanks for the bug report, but to be honest, reporting bugs for versions as old as KDE 4.8.x does not make much sense. This particular crash has been fixed quite some time ago already.

I'm not using KDE, I use XFCE as my desktop. I installed dolphin separately via

sudo yum install dolphin

I've tried both the update and upgrade options for yum, but neither one updated dolphin.

I'm afraid I can't help you with that, please refer to a support forum of
your distro. Sometimes, you have to add a special package repository to get
the newest versions.
