I use homerun and I find it very handy. One feature I would like to have is the possibility to remember the last opened folder. For instance, I open homerun with a shortcut, navigate to a given folder and open a file. If later I want to open another file in the same folder, I have to navigate again to that folder. I believe it would be handy to remember the last opened folder so that we don't have to navigate multiple times from the home directory to a given folder.

I could also try to implement this feature myself if you gave me some hint.

Thanks a lot.

What worries me with this idea is that once Homerun remembers where the user was, then when you browse within Homerun and come back later to do something else you will have to "go back" to the start state.
It all boils down to what is more common: using Homerun several times in a row to open files from the same folder or using Homerun to open a file, then using it later to do something completely different. What do you think?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I believe that the behavior I suggest could be made optional, i.e., there could be a check box in the settings that enables/disables this behavior. Additionally, a shortcut (like the usual Alt+Home) could be used to go back to the home folder, so as to ease the navigation to a completely different folder even when the proposed behavior is enabled.

I don't like adding these kind of options: they tend to break sooner or later because not all combination of options are tested. Adding a quick way to go back home sounds like a good idea,

Getting Homerun to remember its state should not be too hard: editing package/contents/ui/main.qml and changing the behavior of tabContentMain.onCloseRequested should do it. Maybe you can give it a try?

I will try to experiment with this idea as soon as I manage to find some spare time. Thanks.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. There is though, another fullscreen application launcher called Application Dashboard, which may suit your needs. You can add it as a widget to your panel. Please give that a try and report bugs to kdeplasma-addons > Application Dashboard. Thank you!
