It occurred to me that a little ASCII art might help to illustrate what I see (since I am unable to capture a screen shot): OOOOOOOOOOOOXXXX OOOOOTTTOOOOXXXX OOOOOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Here, 'X' represents exposed areas of the primary display, 'O' represents the (what I believe is) superimposed secondary display, and 'T' represents the dialog prompting for my password. When the screen saver/lock activates, it does not blank the secondary screen. The content which was visible before it activated remains visible (though it is not accessible). A wallpaper of (very nearly if not exactly) the dimensions of the secondary display are superimposed on top of the primary desktop. The text box for unlocking the screen is centered within the area of the secondary wallpaper. I would expect this dialog centered on the primary display. Buttons in the dialog are functional (I can start a new session or cancel), but I am unable to enter text into the text area. I can also add that after using 4.10 for a full working day, the screen lock appears to be the only component exhibiting this bizarre behavior. I have the same issue althoug I can't say if the wallpaper from the second screen is superimposed over the primary. I am using separate x screens on each monitor and the unlock screen is the default for 4.10. The wallpaper does not match. There seems to be absolutely no way to enter the password. In fact, I dont think the keyboard works at all on the unlocker. I disabled the screen locker but still get stuck when resuming from suspend. Nothing worth reporting in the logs. I'll be happy to provide any additional info if needed. same issue. Clicking the unlock (right top) does not bring the unlocking dialog, so I cannot type the password. Same here. The difference: I use the external monitor and keep the laptop monitor disabled. I have the Screen Locker configured to: - Start automatically after 10 minutes - Require password after 60 seconds When I got back to my station (after 11 minutes, by example), in a first moment I can see the wallpaper just in a small portion of the top/right side of the screen. The other region is black (probably due the disabled primary monitor, while you guys see the primary monitor wallpaper). Then I cannot click in the password input, but I can move the mouse. If I switch to text consoles (alt + f1) and then get back to X, I just see a black screen and the mouse pointer. I'm using Kubuntu LTS 12.04, with kde 4.10 (via ppa backports). My workaround for now is disable/uncheck the "Require password after" in the Screen Locker configuration (which is not good when you need to protect the station from others... in my case, my kids trying playing drums in my keyboard!). Let me know if you need more info. Well, so, it appears to be related to kde 4.10. How we can edit the "Version" value? Guys, here appears to works if I disable VSync on KDE. System Settings > Desktop Effects > Advanced tab, then unchecked VSync. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 314073 *** |
