- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Kdevelop crashed while I was editing a c++ source file via the integrated editor. On restart I have been asked to restore the unsaved changes, which I have selected. Kdevelop crashed again. 

Now I can't restart Kdevelop, it crashes every time  I try to import my project by loading its CMakeList.txt.

I've already wiped out ~/.kdevduchain, myproject/myproject.kdev4 and myproject/.kdev4 with no success

My kdevelop version is the up-to-date version shipped with ubuntu 12.04

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Are you sure that you never manually compiled KDevelop/KDevplatform and now mix it with a packaged version of your distribution.?This is not supported - see http://techbase.kde.org/KDevelop4/HowToCompile . I ask because KDevelop (/usr/lib/libkdev4cppduchain.so) has no debug symbols while your KDevplatform apparently has.

Also, what do you see on the CLI when you encounter the crash? Are the rights on ~/.kdevduchain set properly (can you write to it?).
