kscreen auto-saves any change that comes from XRR. However, sometimes the change is not not correct [1] and causes kscreen to override user saved configuration. Since the problem described in [1] is probably in proprietary driver (fglrx) it is likely that it will never be solved. It would be interesing to add a workaround in kscreen to revert wrong configurations (from user's point of view) that comes from XRR, for that to happen we need to change kscreen to do not auto-save any configuration from XRR and auto-load user saved configuration on output's configuration change.

[1] https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313303#c4

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a broken driver (like fglrx) and plug/unplug an external tv
2. XRR will wrongly changes the primary screen's mode
Actual Results:
kscreen will auto-save the wrong configuration overriding what the user saved using kscreen's kcm.

Expected Results:
kscreen fixes wrong XRR configuration by auto-loading a configuration that the user has previously saved.

GPU: hd4570
driver: ati-drivers-12.6_beta_pre897

I will add a hidden option as soon as possible to disable this. Once more users reports this we might add a GUI for it.

Any work on this point? The problem must hit many, I had to search for it twice so far.

Either solve it or ask the Pope to include
rm -r ~/.kde4/share/apps/kscreen into the Bible.

This doesn't seem like something we want to support, sorry.
