This is an interesting crash. I think you hit a code path which has never been tested:
XFreeGC(display(), gcroot);

Please provide as much information about your GPU and used driver as possible. Output of glxinfo would be very useful at least.

Bug is trivial - gcroot (and buffer) are not initialized, backend init fails before they're created and the destructor tries to free them nevertheless.

But the GL setup must be fundamentally garbled (to get here) - i bet on insufficient GLX version.

@Cristian:
when you start "kwin --replace" from konsole, there should be some output about why setting up the GL backend fails - nevertheless please provide information about your GPU and installation (drivers)

I'm not sure glxinfo will do anything but crash as well :-\

I will try to explain in detail what I did.

I opened the update manager and frame me that there was a linux kernel update, I had installed the Catalyst 13.1 drivers my video graphics AMD HD 6850.

When you restart and had no 3D acceleration, then the error appeared in kde ... I'm sure that the module was not updated when the new kernel is installed, reinstall my video driver, restart and everything worked again as before.

Abrí el gestor de actualizaciones y me marco que existía una actualización de núcleo linux, tenia instalados los controladores 13.1 de mi gráfica de vídeo AMD HD 6850.

Cuando reinicie ya no tenia aceleración 3D, entonces el error en kde apareció... estoy seguro que el modulo no se actualizo cuando el nuevo núcleo se instalo, instale de nuevo el controlador de mi vídeo, reinicie y todo volvió a funcionar como antes.

Disculpen mi ingles, hablo español.
