Description edA-qa mort-ora-y 2013-01-24 19:57:57 UTC
PDFs created by Inkscape show a blank page when viewed. The same PDF (example attached) views fine in Adobe Reader and can be imported correctly by Gimp.

I've also added an issue for Inkscape since I think they might have a problem as well: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1104385

Reproducible: Always

Shows fine here, though it takes a bit too much to display (How much time have you waited?).

Anyway we don't handle rendering of pdf files directly, it is done through the poppler library. If you feel like it is too slow please open a but against poppler at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/

Thanks for caring about Okular :)

If I wait about 10-20 seconds it does eventually appear. I'll go file a but at poppler since this is very long (considering all other programs show it immediately).

I'm not sure this is actually a poppler issue. On the same system (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with updates) the poppler utilities (same poppler libs) have no problem with this PDF. For example pdftocairo is under a second and epdfview can display it near instantly.

Versions:
libpoppler-glib8 0.18.4-1ubuntu3
okular 4:4.8.5-0ubuntu0.1
epdfview 0.1.8-1build1

I have 4GB free RAM at the time and my CPU is a AMD FX(tm)-8150, so I don't think my computer speed is an issue.

I'm the okular maintaner, you are not, trust me, i know what I’m speaking about.
