Attachments: Patch to fix a minor pb. in displaying sorted items

Description gilou 2013-01-22 17:48:25 UTC
This is more a proposal for an enhancement of Kdf behaviour than a real bug.

If the sort column is the "Full" one ( say in descending order, from top to bottom ) Kdf shows sometimes records in the wrong order ( for example record "57.8%" before "58.1%" when sort order is descending )

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Obviously it depends on the amount of used space of all mounted devices
2.Not easy at all to reproduce
3.
Actual Results:
Record "57.8" appears before "58.1" one ( "Full %" column values when sort order is descending )

Expected Results:
Record "58.1" must appear before "57.8"

A tested patch ( unified diff ) is available

Shouldn't it also use the Float compare for UsageBarCol?

Yes. You are right because both columns ( "Full" & "Usage" ) use the same value ( result of "float DiskEntry::percentFull()" )

But, may be, sorting the view using "Full%" column is enough and sorting using "Usage" should be disabled ( avoid some sort of redundancy ? ). I'll try that and propose a patch for that particular point if you agree.

Please, let me know.

The only problem I have is that kdf is unmaintained (see the lack of response for the other review request).

I will try to find kdeutils maintainer, and ask how to proceed. Seeing how good you know its code, would you take over kdf maintainance?
