After some tests, it appears the current default value of the Freehand Path Tool curve-mode "Exactness", which is 5, is way too much and gives bad results with complex strokes/shapes.
This setting value should be "1" by default, as then it makes good lines properly optimized.
Please just change this value default to 1.

This bug is in Karbon at first...
