On IRC, there is the ability to hide your hostname / ip-address with a cloak. KDE and Wikimedia [1] for example, provide cloaks.
Konversation has the option to auto-join several channels. This auto-join is so fast, that the cloak is often not yet activated. This leads to logging messages in the joined channels that show your hostname /ip-address:
[20:31] --> You have joined the channel #kde-devel (~user@host372.dsl.1un1.de).

It would be good if Konversation would wait a small time with auto-joining / re-joining, if it knows that the user has a cloak. When the cloak has been set, the channels can be joined.
