Description andy 2012-11-25 20:35:31 UTC
I noticed this 11/24/12
*Recovery from sleep mode no longer requires a password. I don't have autologin set up anyplace I can find. Recovery from restart, shutdown and logoff seem OK.
*Font size on the KDE menu is default. I can modify it but it resets to default on the next restart.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. With autologin unchecked sleep and recover.
2. Set the menu font size higher and do a restart.
3.

Expected Results:
Login required on recovery from sleep and font customizations that stick.

Linux 3.2.0-33, KDE 4.8.5, 64 bit, AMD II X4 955

This is all as of the last update, which I applied 11/24/12. Everything else seems nominal. I run Win7 from Oracle Vbox and it seems OK too.

This report is a bit unclear. It looks like you are reporting multiple issues with a single comment. I suggest to ask in a user forum how to debug or verify the issues with your distribution. If the conclusion is that there are bugs in the KDE software, please file the diagnosed issues separately.

The Ubuntu user forum can be reached via http://ubuntuforums.org/

My apologies. This is the first time I've had a problem.
FYI. The font resizing itself just stopped, I don't have a clue. It works now.
The login on resume option I found and corrected.
There was a power option problem with the display going blank with no power options set. I stopped the power service, restarted and started the service, which seemed to correct the problem.
If I have any further problems I will use the Ubuntu forums.
Thank you.

In my installation of Kubuntu 12.10, KE 4.9.90, the setting under "Power Management / Advanced Settings / Lock screen on resume" doesn't work. The screen is always locked even if the box is unchecked.

I hope the downstream fix (a) fixes it and ((b) is available very soon. This behavior is a royal PITA.
