- What I was doing when the application crashed:

after a recent update of project neon (specifically project-neon-kmix and project-neon-kmix-dbg packages), kmix crashes right after reboot and kded (kdeinit4) does not start
 (KDE Daemon/Kmix/KmixCtrl)

also three dr. konqi windows appear - one for kde daemon, one for kmix and one for kmixctrl.

when i try to send the dr. konqi report after inputing my username/pw i get error 
failed to communicate with kded

i have to initiate the comman kdeinit4 in konsole so i can send the report

i use kubuntu raring all newest stuff in project neon.

I have indeed worked on that code, and have an idea. Please add all kmix config files to this bug report, e.g kmixrc, kmixctrlrc .

All are  usually in the directory .kde/share/config/
Please note the leading dot in .kde !!!

another thing: please not that this bug (310185) comes in connection with also (310186) and (310187). When i restart computer i get three separate bug reports (dr. konqi's) at once. and because i  didnt know how to join them together i filled three different bug reports. but i think it has to do with the same issue.

Internal work note:

a) kmixctrlrc : Both look a bit strange. About empty, but with empty "name" properties. Should make KMix crash, but stilll interesting.
b) kmixrc : Both don't have a "Backends" properties, but that is normal for an "unmigrated" kmixrc. Will retest empty Backends property, though.

It looks to me that Project Neon has either modified the KMix source. At least the stacktrace highly suggests it [1]. As I cannot support foreign code, it looks very much like I cannot help you here. You can go three ways here:
 a) Contact Project neon istead,
 b) Install the KDE 4.10 beta, and report about that one
 c) Compile KMix yourself (trunk) and report about that one

Also your kmix debug package does not seem to fit the installed KMix version [1]. I can only recommend that you install the KDE 4.10 beta INCLUDING the corresponding debug package.


[1] Stacktrace shows MixDevice::addEnums(), but I am pretty sure the correct smbols would show the destructor MixDevice::~MixDevice().

i looked everywhere where to find kde 4.10 beta repositroy...andi cant seem to find it. Would you be so kind as to instruct me, where can i download kde sc 4.10 beta from? if it was from some ppa it would be the best if it is from alternative site its also ok.

hello!

anyway after clean install of my kubuntu raring about a month ago this bug does not appear anymore. maybe it was due to some settings problem or multiple updating (i update at least once a day) made some problem..anyway this is for now as far as im concerned ..fixed :)
