If you set WebKit as your browser engine then this https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=233734 might be the cause and the workaround for now is to revert to KHTML. The setting for this is in Konqueror->Settings->General->Default Browser Engine. I know it is not at all obvious to look in Konqueror for this, took me a while to find it, too. Yes, I use WebKit. And when I switched to KHTML, Akregator started following links which appear on the tabbed page in my default browser (Chromium). I don't know if this behaviour is a bug or not.
