Description gzankevich 2012-10-09 14:18:29 UTC
The instructions I received for disabling Akonadi and Neopmuk:

"Open system settings>desktop search, uncheck enable nepomuk, then in kmeny, type in akonadi server and make sure it's not enabled as well.

Also in system settings, startup & shutdown>service manager, uncheck nepomuk in the 'startup services' list, click apply, then in 'session management', check 'restore previous session', and in the text box type, akonadi, nepomuk. Click apply."

In my opinion, this is a bit too involved. It would be nice if there were a single button to disable these features. It would be even nicer if a first-run wizard existed for KDE which gave the user an opportunity to configure some of the potential pain-points of KDE.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install KDE
2. Try to disable Akonadi/Nepomuk
3. Cry
Actual Results:
Too much effort was expended.

Expected Results:
Provided a simple, straightforward way to configure this component.

Don't install kdepim :)
Bug invalid.
kdepim use nepomuk/akonadi.
Without akonadi no kdepim.
that's all.

With all due respect, you're kidding, right?
