In Kopete I used a keyboard shortcut for "Read Message" action which opened the chat window with the last unread message. Please add this action to the list of actions available to assign the global shortcut to.
Also, it would be great to have the "Show Contact List window" action available in the dialog too.

Confirming this wish. Also to make tracking easier, I've separated the second shortcut into new bug #313404.
