I can reproduce this. However, the same thing happens to konqueror (using webkit engine). I too can reproduce it. Rekonq+kio_file and Konqueror/WebKit+kio_file overuse CPU. I try Konqueror/KHTML -- it's OK. I can reproduce this as well on Konqueror (WebKit, up-to-date Fedora 19 x86 installation, KDE 4.10.5). Opening any locally stored Processing reference page (distribution at processing.org) causes the loading to freeze (the page appears completely loaded, but the progress bar hangs at some percentage, usually around 50%), and kio_file starts consuming an entire CPU core. Killing kio_file solves this. This does not happen when using KHTML (or accessing the reference online through the website.) Rekonq and Konqueror are unmaintained; does this still happen with KDE Frameworks 5.47 and Dolphin 18.04.x? i don't know. im not using kde or now. |
