Sentry Crash Report:

Description jovin 2012-09-24 15:28:46 UTC
KDE Telepathy doesn't recognize the avatar of aMSN users.
One of my WLM contact uses aMSN and only his avatar isn't shown. All my other WLM contacts have one.

In Kopete I have no problems and all is fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find someone who uses aMSN.
2. ???
3. You'll see the avatar isn't there.
Actual Results:
The avatar of my contact is not shown.

Expected Results:
The avatar should be shown.

All other of my WLM contacts which don't use aMSN have an avatar.
In Kopete it works for all.

If it works for everyone else this is arguably therefore aMSN at fault. MSN has multiple different versions of its protocol, not all implementations speak all of them "correctly".

Would it be possible for you to test with Empathy. Empathy and KTp both share the same backend. If the avatar fails to show in Empathy it is the backend at fault and we can raise a bug report there. If it shows in Empathy it is our fault and we will work really hard to fix it.

Also; I am downgrading this from "major" severity. That is reserved for something like a crash, or not being able to log in. A missing avatar still leaves the application perfectly usable.

No info provided for over 6 months, plus the fact that MSN is effectively dead, closing, sorry.
